ESXi 4.1.0
VMware Converter Stand alone
Productive system with typical "Too much snapshots to get it consolidated on the datastore"-problem.
Already found several threads and hints, that using VMware Converter Stand alone can be a strategy to consolidate the snapshots by converting the VW to another host.
Can not afford any more trial and error, so need to be 100% sure about following questions:
- Does the VMware Converter Stand alone consolidate the snapshots only at the destination without opening any new snapshots or any other (larger) files on the source host?
- VM must be powered off for doing this?
- If consolidating only at the destination: Is it a default/standard setting in VMware Converter Stand alone or are there any options that must be set?
