Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this topic, but it seemed most appropriate.
I have just started working for a new company, who currently have ESXI 4.1, I have previous experience with ESXI but not too much.
We are about to have one of the two servers upgrades (hard drives) which will include the old drives being completely removed and new ones put in place, set up in a new RAID array.
First of all I will need to back up the Server, VM's and configuration (not decided on how to do this yet).
Second of all, I was looking at upgrading from 4.1 to 5.5 before the hard drive upgrade, so before I restore after the upgrade, there are no version mis-matches.
I have started looking at upgrading to 5.5 but can't seem to find myself a starting point, the best upgrade option for me, seemed to be the Vsphere Update Manager, but I cannot find the plugin, nor can I find how to install it.
Please can someone possibly point my in the right direction to get this started?
I currently have two weekends till this needs to be completely finished and I am running out of time. (This was left from the old technician at the last minute).
Any help would hugely be appreciated!
