I have ESXi 4.1 and using vSphere Client to manage virtual machines.
A few of my users keep using the "Remove From Inventory" instead of the "Delete From Disk" option in vSphere when they want to delete the VM.
This leaves the VM on the datastore but not being used. I have since removed this privlege from the offending users but i need to do some clean up.
I have quite a lot of folders on the datastore where users have done this over the last few years. Probably about 150 folders but only 80 VM's listed in the inventory.
Is there any way i can output a report showing the datastore directory of each machine in inventory so that i can delete anything not in this list? Id rather not have to manually check the settings of all 80 VM's in the inventory.
Ideal output would be something like:
MyVmNameHere 1, [DataStore1]\MyVmDirectoryHere1\
MyVmNameHere2 , [DataStore1]\MyVmDirectoryHere2\
