Can't connect to ESXi 4.0 Host & no vmWare guest are running

Hi All,

I have an issue with my vmWare ESXi 4.0 Releasebuild 208167, running on HP Pro Liant DL180 G5 (2 x Intel Xeon CPU E5430 2.66 GHz with 16 GB of RAM).

I could not connect to my ESXi 4.0 host with vSphere Client (error message - vSphereClient.jpg attached). For me, the error message is to broad, and anything could go wrong here.

I can ping to 192.168.168.10 and ESXi 4.0 host can ping my desktop as well. I also could not access the ESXi 4.0 host by http at port 80 and 443. Telnet to 192.168.168.10 at port 80 and 443 also confirmed fail.

When I tried to reboot the ESXi 4.0, it will stuck on Reboot in progress forever ... till I forcely shutdown the server.

The other thing is automatic starting for all my vmWare guest. After I tried to reboot the ESXi 4.0, none of my virtual machines are starting. It does not matter how long I have to wait, they would not back online.

I checked the ESXi 4.0 log (Alt + F12), I could not find any specific clue, warnings or error messages. Restarting management services would also not helping or fixing the situation.

Also, when I went to ESXi 4.0 shell section (Alt + F1), I can run 3 or 5 commands before it stuck or hung, and not accepting any further command till I reboot my ESXi 4.0 host.

Does anyone can help me?

Thank you.
