I am running the HPE version of ESXI 6.5-Update 3 on an HP DL 360e G8. I have added an HP P420 (non-integrated) raid card set to HBA mode. I am attempting to pass the whole PCI card to a FreeNAS vm so it has direct control over the card. However, after passing the card through and trying to start the VM, the server hard-locks, i get a PSOD, and the fans go to 100% the server usually shortly after reboots. I have seen a couple posts online referencing a similar problem, with no evident solution. Does anyone have any ideas?
