I have a live server, that didnt start anymore because of a error that the parent id of a vmdk might have been changed or the snapshot wasnt found (can`t remember the exact error). I found a fix for that on VMware KB, i had to change the parent id`s from the vmdk files, so i did that with name-000001.vmdk to the last name-000005.vmdk. Now the vmware server (windows server 2008) starts again, but unfortunately it starts in an old state of 6 months back. There is only one snapshot and that one is from 6 months back and now it seems to start that particular snapshot. Is there any way to fix this? What happens if i delete this snapshot from 6 months back with the snapshot manager?
