I'm analyzing, mostly out of curiosity, a difference with two virtual machines on top of POWEREDGE using SAS disks and a Perc.
- both using Ubuntu 12.04lts virtual-kernel (same version)
- both same disk type, on the same datastore
- same cpu, same memory, same disk size
- resource allocation, the same
Basically, one of the VMs feels snappier. Doing a hdparm VM1 reports consistently about 200mb/sec while VM2 reports consistently around 130mb/sec. Actually, all the VMs reports more or less 200mb/sec except for VM2 (which is actually a clone).
Ideas?
