I have a "beige box" Dell Dimension E521, with an Intel 82574L installed. Under ESXi 3.5 U5, the NIC worked just fine, and ran well for over a year. Now under ESXi 4.x, the NIC shows as "Disconnected", even though the indicator lights all show good. When I do esxcfg-nics -l, the adapter shows up as 0Mbps Half duplex, and "down", but without doing ANYTHING to the computer, if I load ESXi 3.5 on it, the NIC works just fine. Has anyone run into this, and come up with a solution, other than replacing the NIC, which should be fully supported?..
