Not able to access internet with static ips in vms but the same is working with dhcp

Hi Friends,

I have a problem in my ESX host. I am using 5.0 ESXi host and i am a newbie in it.

I bridged the internet connection from my windows server with the ESXi server. I am able to ping the web(e.g ping yahoo.com) from the esxi host itself.

But when i am assigning a static ip to the vm's inside this ESXi those machines are not able to access the internet.

But the same starts working if i configure it with dhcp.

i treid the below thing

i configured the vm with dhcp option and got the ip address. It was 192.x.x.x. Then i changed the network from dhcp to static with the same ip i.e.

192.x.x.x after which internet stops working. Please assist me in this.
