What to expect for snapshot size?

General question here regarding the size of vmware snapshots (or for that matter any snapshots really).

For the sake of asking the question here is a very basic example:

If I had  a 10GB VM and I take a snapshot; the first snapshot will be close to zero.  So now lets say I let that snapshot sit for a week and during that week the VM sees 2GB of changes to the file system.

Will the snapshot then be 2GB in size?

If I let the snapshot go another week and the VM sees another 1GB in change to files (deletes, adds, modifies) will the snapshot then be 3GB in size?
