I have lost my Windows.vmdk file and have only the "main" bulky Windows-flat.vmdk left in the file-system.
Since the backup failed (boy oh boy!) how can I recreate the Windows.vmdk?
I have a "similar" Windows Machine running on a brother ESXi host but with smaller allocated storage that looks like this:
# Disk DescriptorFile
version=1
encoding="UTF-8"
CID=845a9e96
parentCID=ffffffff
isNativeSnapshot="no"
createType="vmfs"
# Extent description
RW 104857600 VMFS "Windows-flat.vmdk"
# The Disk Data Base
#DDB
ddb.adapterType = "lsilogic"
ddb.geometry.cylinders = "6527"
ddb.geometry.heads = "255"
ddb.geometry.sectors = "63"
ddb.longContentID = "e747ecae6b26a5bbbafe6fdc845a9e96"
ddb.toolsInstallType = "1"
ddb.toolsVersion = "10346"
ddb.uuid = "60 00 C2 9a 64 ad bd 18-a6 c7 44 52 04 7d ab 07"
ddb.virtualHWVersion = "8"
I have tried to copy and paste into the missing VM. It loads the disk up in the config but the reported size is 50Gb instead of 100GB so I didn't power up yet.
Is this something I can still fix or did I lose the VM for good :-( ?
