I am running ESXi 6.7.0 U2 with an LSI SAS3008 HBA.
After installing SAS3IRCU I get an error (cmd: ./sas3ircu list) mptlib2 error 1.
I have tried many things, but after I while I figured out that there are 2 SAS3IRCU tools for the card, the native ESX and the so called NDS version that is supposed to work with the ESX driver from VMWare.
After installing SAS3IRCU NDS I am able to succesfully work with the SAS3008 controller.
My question now is... how do I get it working with the original broadcom drivers and the original broadcom SAS3IRCU tool?
I tried disabling lsi_msgpt3 driver, but that slowed down the boot process and did not work. (cmd: esxcli system module -enabled=false --si_msgpt3)
Is there perhaps an expert here that knows more about this? All above is not quite my field of expertise
I got very far... but I am missing the last bit of info to make this all work with the right driver and sas3ircu tool.
