FCoE and Jumbo Frames

Hello-

I am running an ESXi 5.1 cluster on Dell blades with 10 Gbps connectivity up to a pair of Nexus 5K switches.  The switches have ethernet connectivity out to a catalyst switch and fibre connectivity via a pair of MDS switches to a Clariion, via FCoE.   So far the environment has been very unstable.  Randomly hosts will lose connectivity to storage and we have to reboot the hosts to them get back online.  Regular ethernet seems fine.  I just found out from my network team they do not have jumbo frames enabled ( I assumed they did) on the 5K switches.  From my research it looks like since FCoE uses mini jumbo frames if we don't have it enabled it will cause fragmentation with the packets.  If this is true, do you think this could be causing my datastores to drop randomly?  Also, on my side is there anything I need to do to handle the jumbo frames, assuming they enable it on the 5Ks, special configurations, etc?  We are using vss for vm traffic and vds for the FCoE and management ports.  Thank you in advance.....Erik

PS. I sure like regular fiber better at this point!!!
