I have the ESXi 4.1 update 1 currently installed (vSphere Hypervisor). We do not use vCenter.
I'm trying to figure the best option for upgrading the ESXi 4.1 U1 hypervisor to ESXi 4.1 U3. Should I:
1. Use the Installable version and after the installation is complete, restore configurations settings using a saved configuration file with PowerCLI ?
2. Use a 4.1 U3 upgrade version with vihostupdate?
If I go with #2, which download file do I need? Thanks for your assistance. I am trying to read the tutorials but some of it is not particularly clear, especially the upgrade options (rather than clean install) which I would prefer to do if it's possible.
