Hello fellow IT admins,

I am currently building server for my personal needs (Storing Files, Monthly backups of PC's, Nested Virtualization through Hyper-V, Streaming Media with Plex Media Server, Domain, Print Server etc.)

I will be using Win Server 2012 R2 VM for Storage, Streaming Media & Backups, Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2016 for Nested Virtualization & Win Server 2008 R2 for Print Server & Domain.

This is my current planned configuration (Note ; I have very restricted budget right now and I need server, I will be upgrading RAM in future, I'll use 16 GB kit out of my PC) :

CPU: Intel - Core i7-8700 3.2GHz 6-Core Processor  (€314.99 @ Amazon Deutschland)

Motherboard: Gigabyte - Z370P D3 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard  (€85.99)

Memory: Kingston - FURY 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory  (Purchased For €0.00)

Storage: ADATA - Ultimate SU800 128GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  (Purchased For €0.00)

Storage: Western Digital - WD Purple 2TB 3.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive  (Purchased For €0.00)

Storage: Western Digital - WD Purple 2TB 3.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive  (Purchased For €0.00)

Storage: Western Digital - WD Purple 2TB 3.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive  (Purchased For €0.00)

Storage: Western Digital - Red 3TB 3.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive  (Purchased For €0.00)

Power Supply: FSP Group - 550W 80+ Silver Certified ATX Power Supply  (Purchased For €0.00)

Total: €400.98

My question is will ESXi work with this config or do I have to go for AMD Ryzen ?
