In a vSphere 5.5 infrastructure based on ESXi 5.5 U2 hosts I see lots of VM maked as "HA Unprotected".
A message says thet
"vSphere may attempt to restart the VM after a supported failure but is not guaranteed to do so.
The VM is unprotected when the following conditions have been met:
VM is in a vSphere HA enabled cluster
VM powered on successfully after a user-initiated power on
vSphere HA has not recorded that the desired power state of the VM is on"
Reading the article on page Virtual machine status changes from Protected to Unprotected (2020082) | VMware KB it looks like "This is a cosmetic issue and does not affect the virtual machine.": is it correct?
How can I ensure that the VMs are HA protected without simulating an host crash?
