I'm looking for a cost effective NIC card that will support pfsense running in a virtual machine on an ESXi host.
Specifically, I'd like that the existing NIC on the T20 will continue be shared between all the VM's (what I have now), and I'd like the new multi-interface nic to be used exclusively for pfsense so that one is the dedicated WAN port, and I can define 3 interfaces for wired LAN, wireless LAN and guest LAN.
I've looked at compatible cards but want to make sure I choose one that will work well with pfsense and have the correct virtualization support to do what's described above.
The cheapest (but older) NIC card that I found that's supported in 6.5 is the Intel E1G44ETBLK Gigabit ET Quad-Port PCI-E Server Network Adapter
Will this work?
Is there a better card sub $100?
Any other recommendations for setup?
Thanks!
