Our VCSA and 3 esxi hosts are all at 6.0. We have EVC set at Westmere because of one older host. We're getting ready to replace that host, so we will have 2 Haswell hosts (Xeon E5-2660v3) and one Broadwell (Xeon E5-2660v4). Vsphere 6.0 does not support Broadwell. Does that mean it will just ignore the unsupported features, so I can disable EVC altogether, or do I need to change EVC to Haswell.
This may be a moot point because we may also be upgrading to 6.5 soon. I need to put our vcsa and hosts into a new vlan, so that might be a good time to set up a new vcsa 6.5 and move the hosts to it. I just hate to say goodbye to my cherished C# client. At any rate, if we do that, I probably have to enable EVC at the Haswell level, right?
Thanks.
