Moving a Windows 2008 vm

I have a VM with Windows 2008 in a rather small data store. I want to back it up and move it to a larger capacity server.  I am wondering if by moving it to a larger datastore, it will allow me to expand the partitions in the vm.

I want to go from 73 Gigs to 200 Gigs. I have a feeling that it is not going to be so easy. I have to tell the vm about the rest of the space.

Any help would be appreciated.
