I am new to most of this. I have an ESXi 6.5.0 server (Intel® Core™2 Quad Processor Q9400) running a Windows Server 2003 virtual machine. I need to be able to add a number of PCIe cards to the host machine mother board and use these in the virtual machine.
I have checked the BIOS settings of the host machine and I have enabled the setting 'Intel (R) Virtualisation Tech'. However, when I try and add my hardware device at vClient, I get the message 'Host does not support passthrough configuration'. See attached screen dumps.
Has anyone got any ideas how I overcome this?
For this to work I believe the following needs to be enabled in the BIOS:
- Intel® Virtualization Technology (VT-x)
- Intel® Virtualization Technology for Directed I/O (VT-d)
However, my BIOS only has the option for 'Intel (R) Virtualisation Tech', could this be the problem?
