Performing disk cleanup. Cannot power off.

Hi,

I had some issues with a very old snapshot which I removed as it caused intermittent issues during backup.

After that I tried to run consolidate but it gave me an error that the file is locked:

An error occurred while consolidating disks: msg.snapshot.error-LOCKED.

Lock [type 10c00001 offset 217653248 v 2208, hb offset 3383296

gen 333, mode 1, owner 594fa827-bbc6ad0c-9dea-a0369f1ceb30 mtime 139562

num 0 gblnum 0 gblgen 0 gblbrk 0]

Addr <4, 463, 76>, gen 1913, links 1, type reg, flags 0, uid 0, gid 0, mode 100755

len 3201, nb 1 tbz 0, cow 0, newSinceEpoch 1, zla 2, bs 8192

Now I tried to turn the VM off hoping to be able to free up the file somehow. Unfortunately now I have an unresponsive machine in "power-off mode" and "Performing disk cleanup" is still running.

Does anyone have an idea how long this could take? there are 2 mvdk files on the data store of about 100 GB each.

Is there another way to force this process somehow? I don't care about looking any snapshots in the process

Thx

EDIT: upon further inspection the locking MAC a0369f1ceb30 is tied to an unused NIC on the host. What do you make of that?
