I'm trying to get ESXi to keep SSH keys after reboot. Is there any way to do a stateful/diskful install of ESXi or some way to tell it to hold on to particular files? This whole "load everything into RAM" crap is ridiculous and is leaving us in a really shitty situation. The other option here is to find a way to make the API writeable on free ESXi but I doubt that will happen. Any guidance at all would be super helpful. I'm just trying to get the host to shutdown gracefully in the event of a power outage and UPS batteries start running too low and the only speed bump is that SSH keys won't stay through a reboot.
