How do I "Discard the redo log" when it doesn't exist?

Hello, I'm using ESXi 5.0. My VMs are stored on FreeNAS (8.2.0-RELEASE-p1-x64) accessed via iSCSI.

One of my machines occasionally crashes with this message:

"

Message from xxxx: The redo log of xxxxx-000006.vmdk is corrupted. Power off
the virtual machine. If the problem still persists, discard the redo log.

"

The machine requires consolidation but this fails every time I try it.

There are no .REDO files in the VM folder.

I did create a snapshot on this machine about a month ago but deleted it recently. I've tried creating a snapshot and then using the delete all snapshot option but this fails when it tries to consolidate.

If I can't fix this corruption is there a simple way to revert back to the initial state of the machine?

Thanks.
