PSOD - "no place on disk to dump data". help please!

Hello,

My first post in the community.

I'm trying to install ESXi on new HP ProLiant DL380 G6 with 2 CPUs, 32 GB RAM and  6x300Gb hard drives.

In the past I had successfully installed ESXi/ESX 4 on the same hardware without any issues.

During setup I get the PSOD with the error "no place on disk to dump data".

I have updated the Bios to the latest version but that didn't solve my issue.

Note: As I turned on the server for the first time and went to configure the raid, I notice that the raid was already configured as a raid 5. I broke that raid and configured raid 1 with two of my drives and used that for the installation. Q: Do I need to "wipe" the drive somehow before installing? Is it possible that the ESX server "thinks" that the drives are full?

Any suggestion will be welcome.

Thanks!
